COVID-19 Policy and Procedures

The following policy outlines considerations and measures for keeping us as safe as possible while engaging in therapeutic work together.

First, please do bear in mind the symptoms of COVID-19, the main three being:

  1. New continuous cough
  2. Fever/high temperature
  3. Loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste

If you have been around someone you suspect has COVID-19 or you may have COVID-19, please let me know and we’ll re-arrange your session until you’re well and any appropriate quarantine periods are complete. I agree to do the same and will contact you to cancel or re-arrange a session via whatever primary contact you’ve already provided or you prefer (such as email or phone).

For more information about symptoms, you can visit nhsinform.scot and/or call 0800 028 2816.

Cancelling Sessions

My usual contract asks for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancelling a session – please try to do the same if you become unwell. I understand this may not be possible, depending on your circumstances. If you do need to cancel an in-person session out of caution but feel well enough for your session and want to meet, we can do the session over Zoom and this arrangement can be made short-notice.

Face Coverings

We’re required to wear face coverings while moving about the building. We don’t have to wear them while in sessions. If you prefer that I do wear mine in session, let me know, and I’ll do the same.

Social Distancing

The chairs in the room are 2 meters apart. As part of social distancing, we’ll avoid shaking hands. We’ll do our best to keep 2 meters apart while in the building, for example when walking to and from my consultation room.

Hand Washing

There is hand sanitiser in the consultation room for us to use when we enter and exit. You may also use one of the 2 bathrooms in the building to wash your hands if you prefer. When you enter the building at the main door there is also hand sanitiser there.

Water/Drinks

Normally, I would provide water. But for now, please bring your own.

Paying

To reduce contact between us, please pay by BACS rather than by cash or card. I’ll send you an email with my BACS details to facilitate that.

Test and Protect

It’s possible that I’ll be required to pass along your contact details to the Government’s Test and Protect System if you or I develop symptoms of COVID-19. If that is necessary, I will endeavour to let you know before I have to disclose your details.
