How many sessions

There is no clear-cut answer for this since everyone’s needs vary. I work in an open-ended way, which means I am open to the work taking as long or as little as needed. Ethically, I want you to leave therapy when it feels right for you. When we work togther, I check in with you and promote an open dialogue around the work we’re doing so that we have a good understanding of progress and what you need.

First Sessions

First sessions with me are 60 minutes so that we can have a full session together and allow each other to get a feel for what you need and if I’m best placed to meet your needs. In this first session, I ask about your background and am interested in the details of what is bringing you to therapy. In this first session, I’ll let you know what I think is the best therapeutic approach for working with your concern(s).

Before setting up an initial session, if you’d like to, you can request a 15-minute phone call with me in which we can have a brief chat about what I can offer and what you need.

Working Together

I have a contract that outlines my guidelines around confidentiality, arriving late, cancelling sessions, endings and other topics that concern how I work. You can view the document before we meet so you know what to expect.

My office is at 3 Coates Place. I’m on the ground floor with about four steps from the pavement to the main door. Video sessions are via Zoom.
